Dating mega site Match.com has released some interesting data about how well single dads go with online dating on their site.
You can read it for yourself here: Match.com survey, but I think the key points are:
1/ Single dads are 46% more likely to meet someone new compared to single men without kids – that is a big difference! And senior single dads do even better!
2/ They are more likely to email single moms back.
3/ About 75% are between 35 and 55 years old.
But, there is no analysis presented as to why single dads do so well.
Is it is because they are believed to be better dads. But, just because you have kids, doesn’t mean that you are a good dad, just by default…
Is the idea of a single dad somehow more attractive than a bachelor without them…? Somehow more stable? I’m not sure that makes sense either.
OR is there some subliminal Brady Bunch thing going on!! (now I think I’m really clutching at straws…)
Perhaps the very fact that they already have kids gives women some sort of comfort that these guys are going to be more open to the idea of having more kids (or step kids)? And also, this means that they know what being a parent involves.
To be honest, I don’t know, but the success rate for single dads is so much higher that I am really, really surprised by it.
Can you come up with some better reasons as to why single dads do so well online? I’d love to hear it!
And, by the way, what does this all mean for single parents? Well, one thing is for sure, as it seems single parents do better online with each other, my suggestion is to join a single parents dating site like Connecting Single Parents!
